What do you get for your Money?
Carry out a system check
This is the basic check to determine if the air conditioning is functioning using a digital thermometer and manifold gauges
System Evacuation
Using a recovery pump, the refrigerant is sucked out of the system and recovered into a recovery bottle, this is weighed to accurately determine how much was in the system and compare this with the manufacturers specifications and calculate losses
Vacuum the system
This is done when all of the refrigerant has been removed This lowers the pressure in the system (lowering the pressure lowers the boiling point of water). This removes some (but not all) water from the system it also acts as a basic leak test if a vacuum cannot be obtained, it suggests a leak.
Leak test the system
Using Oxygen Free Nitrogen, pressurise the system, it must hold the pressure any loss would indicate a leak. It is illegal to put refrigerant into a system with a known leak.
Replace Refrigerant
Refrigerant is put into the system along with a small quantity of P.A.G. refrigerant oil, ( this replaces the oil removed when the system was evacuated) up to the manufacturers recommended quantity.
Test The System
Check the Pressure of the system and the temperature at face vents, also that the compressor is ‘cycling’ correctly
